People were angry. Some were there to be angry. Some were there to instill anger. There was a lot of anger on both sides. Be in the middle. Capture the moment. Take no ones anger for your own. Shove any opinions in a pocket. Decisions on wrong or write don’t belong here. Just photographer. The crowd shifted to the west side of the intersection, and I took a knee. Curiously, it became the case of being the only photographer in the street. From the corner of vision, the flight arc of something begins its decent. A metal clink rings out clearly amongst the yelling, perhaps 5 feet away. The flashbang did it’s.. flashbang. Enough to temporarily mute the phone, pressure eardrums, move cloth and a pinch of heat. Just be the middle. People are still angry, people still want to instill anger, years later.
