What is a street photographer?

It’s being periodically asked “what do you do” and dealing with the resultant “why would you do that” look.

Really, if you love the sound of the shutter and the image after that, you’ve defined a portion of street photography. When you’re hungry enough for that feeling, you’ll shoot what ever is available, morning, noon and night.  And street photography is always about what is available.

A street photographer will look at what’s available, and look for moments.  Moments are fluid. They don’t stop. Moments present opportunities to captured and held in the form of images.

A street photographer is an observer of moments, and a capturer of images.
